I-64 Peninsula Widening Segment 3

Segment 3

York County

Segment 3 is an 8.2-mile corridor of I-64 that continues westward from the Segment II construction improvements to a six-lane interstate system from approximately 1.0 mile west of Route 199, Newman Road (Exit 234) to 1.05 miles west of Route 199, Humelsine Parkway/Marquis Center Parkway (Exit 242) to the west where the Segment II project ends. The widening is expected to occur in the median of the existing interstate, limiting the amount of right of way required to construct the project and avoid impacts to existing interchanges. Segment III construction is expected to begin in summer 2018.
